Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you are visiting the island of Bali. The town is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali - scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers, cheap accommodation and unique luxury hotels. Its central location also makes it easy to explore mountains, beaches, and other major towns in Bali. However, nothing comes close to the popularity of Ubud’s tourist haunt, the Pasar Ubud.

Mongkok Shopping Madness

It is overwhelming but not intimidating, filled to the rafters but not frustratingly asphyxiating. The Mongkok district in Kowloon, Hong Kong, is an intriguing paradox to the perceptive. On first impression, the area is milling with a seemingly inexhaustible stream of traffic, human and vehicular; a tide that never recedes. But once one finds out what is in store for them in Mongkok, the exasperation one would feel when thrown into a crowded cauldron would immediately and instinctively dissipate.

Biodiversity in the Heartlands

A Town with Character

Phuket, in simplistic terms, consists of Kata, Karon and Patong beaches; beaches which made Phuket the crème de la crème of beach havens in Southeast Asia. In contrast to its feted and frenzied sandy counterparts, Phuket Town is almost unremarkable; unremarkable for the fact that many of its buildings are drabbed in monochrome and exhibits none of the colourful pomp of say, Patong.
