Metallica's latest EP, Beyond Magnetic was released via iTunes download on the 13th of December and has been well received by the metal community, whom has since had their faith renewed in one of the founding fathers of trash metal.

The 4 songs in this EP was recorded at the same time as those found in Death Magnetic, and has the same feel to it.  The energy is present from the very start of the album. Spectacular Riffs at the start of "Hate Train" really sets the tone. However, you only really start getting into it after the chorus. The raw aggresion and testosterone filled angst found in Death Magnetic can also be found in Beyond Magnetic.

Listening through the 4 songs, all you would be thinking about is: "They still have it!" The EP was released to celebrate the band's 30th Anniversary and has been a fantastic treat for fans worldwide. This album definitely isn't for everyone, but if you have developed the acquired taste, it is definitely worth a listen.  After all, the 1980s has long since been gone, but Metallica still stay strong.  Additionally, Metallica has also announced that the international CD release will be on the 31st of January 2012.
